With a strong combination of management consulting, operational, and financial experience Sanjay Pothen serves as Chief Executive Officer of Pliq. With the mission of driving the growth of Pliq, he oversees all business (e.g., sales, business development, marketing, finance) and operational (IT, content production) activities for the company. Pothen joined Pliq at its inception and has been instrumental to the launch of the company. Pothen previously worked in management consulting, most recently for BusinessEdge Solutions (BES) where he was a Principal and co-leader of the West Coast Media and Content Practice. In addition, he was a co-founder of the Strategy Practice at BES. Prior to BES, he worked for Ernst & Young Consulting and Arthur D. Little. In these capacities, he led the management and delivery of strategy and operations advisory services to a number of telecommunications and high technology firms. A sample of clients include “Blue Chips” such as AT&T, BellSouth, Bell Canada, HP, SBC, Sprint and a number of privately-held startups. Throughout his management consulting career, Pothen has stepped in to take interim operational roles, specifically in marketing and product management. Pothen began his career in finance and accounting at IBM. Pothen received his B.S. at the University of California at Berkeley and his M.B.A. at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He has also been an adjunct research fellow at the Harvard Business School where he authored papers and cases and co-developed a course on Internet business models.
