Jim began his career in communications working at Intel Corporation in the early 80’s. It was there that he was introduced to state-of-the-art communications technologies and was privileged to work at a company with Gordon Moore (Moore’s Law) and Robert Noyce at the helm. Jim has spent an equal amount of time in his career working on both sides of the communications fence. Jim spent the early part of his career working with data communications elements (routers, switches, etc.) and the latter half with telecommunications manufacturers working on next generation voice communications platforms. In 2005, Jim left the manufacturer space to start CNVRG Advisory Group in an effort to help communications professionals understand the implications of migrating to a converged communications infrastructure. Recently, Jim has been working under contract with Avaya, Inc as an Executive Briefer in their Irvine, CA Executive Briefing Center providing customer presentations and demonstrations of Avaya’s IP based communications solutions and perspectives on industry trends. Jim also produces and delivers CD and flash based educational content along with a monthly technology web cast that focuses on convergence related technologies, trends and best practices. |
